Obviously the WTB&TS doesn`t think upping the ante on the Yankee Stadium & Polo Grounds Convention is worth the investment

maybe in hindsight they just dont see it worthwhile in monetary value or in gaining converts .who knows what contributions they received at that convention or what kickbacks they may have received from politicians/councils/municipalitys for holding it in their city.. if i remember correctly their was about a quarter of a million in attendance at that time ?

in the late 50`s ?.

i know in the 60`s and 70`s they went for more smaller international conventions in more locations around the globe.. and of course their have been far greater crowds at other religous festivals , such as billy graham crusades , the roman catholic popes appearances not to mention the muslim and indian festivals.. or is this just another indication of the slow decline in the numbers and influence of the watchtower religion overall ,are we in fact seeing the demise of the jehovahs witness religion , is it in fact running out of steam.. smiddy.

when i found out it was up i told so many people frantically that there is a new study article up and that it had so many changes.

my mother started crying saying how happy she is to be a part of an organization that is truly directed by jehovah... only the true faithful and discreeet slave could have such insight.... another person began to say how great it is to see the celestial chariot on the move.. .

After the 4th person came with a similar response I went outside and literally just screamed....

You should have got the message that you were doing it wrong when you failed with the first person.

When you try something new on JWs, start with the least important member to you so that you make your mistakes with JWs that don't directly affect your relationships with the people you really want to get 'out'.

Then ..... learn from each mistake. If you can't work out what went wrong .... STFU until you have worked it out.

i`ve spent the morning and part of my afternoon... getting to the bottom of... why names were added to the awaa fan page... it`s a dangerous thing to happen in our world... faders can be outed,we can lose,family,friends... the results can be an absolute disaster... .

aawa "did not" create the facebook awaa fan page.

I just noticed a major omission in the list of DF'ing offenses

i noticed this on slimboy's list of things that can get you df'd, and i checked it against the "flock" book.. .

there is no mention of blood transfusions!

i know they are downplaying this, but have they stopped df'ing people for it altogether?

i am looking for some very good books to give me the other side of not believing the bible.

i am not sure where i stand at this point and would like to be informed.

Differences Between JWs in the US and Europe

there are many cultural differences between the general population of the us and europe, what about jws?

i have heard about such things as beards being allowed, movies that a jw cant watch in the us or would be frowned upon watching being ok, same with tv shows, and even the way they dress in public.

seems more laid back over there if this is true.. any truth to this?

I don't think it is clever to throw people some slack when their choices/actions/inactions/whatever affect people who never signed up to their ideals.

Their hearts being in the right place doesn't make it ok if they 'out' someone who is working from a different agenda to their own.

Me ....

I have no desire to 'reform' the WT. I want it gone. That is not AAWA's stated objective, and I do not want my name associated with AAWA by some dickwit's over-enthusiasm.

When was the king of Babylon punished? 539??

Therefore, according to this scripture, when was the seventy years fulfilled? 539??

Who was the punishment for? For the king of Babylon and his nation??

What was the punishment for? For the guilt of the Babylonians??

NWT Jeremiah 29:10?“For this is what Jehovah has said, ‘In accord with the fulfilling of seventy years at Babylon I shall turn my attention to YOU people, and I will establish toward YOU my good word in bringing YOU back to this place.’

NIV Jeremiah 29:10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place.

So, in this case, they have picked a translation thar supports their chronology, without providing any evidence that the translation they chose is correct, while failing to comment on another passage, Jeremiah 25:12, that contradicts the WT's chosen version of Jeremiah 29:10. The NIV's translation of Jeremiah 29:10 povides no contradiction, but trashes WT chronology.
